Amber Eau de Parfum, Brooklyn Perfume Company
Amber is a confusing subject. Thereās ambergris, sometimes called simply āamber;ā an accord made with labdanum that is often called amber; and a number of aroma chemicals often defined as amber. But this perfume is made from the distilled amber we wear as jewelry. Not many perfumers work with it because by itself it smells, well, burnt. When combined, however, with sweet and balsamic compounds, this dissonance becomes very inviting. Itās very persistent, woody and animalic. It is not, however, a traditional perfume (I donāt really know why; it just smells different) and may not be for everyone. It is indeed unorthodox.
