This book is delightfully written and is based on five specific and important scents used in perfumery: cinnamon, jasmine, ambergris, mint, and frankincense. Each of these has a fascinating history and Mandy makes the most of them in this entertaining read. Mandy Aftel leaves us wanting more.

I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Mandy and take one of her wonderful classes in Berkeley. The book itself, I would say, is in very good condition, its only fault being a smudged back dust jacket—I got a drop of frankincense on it.
