This fascinating little book talks a lot about pheromones and how fragrances affect mood and other human psychological states. Here’s an excerpt from the back cover: “Acting on receptors in the olfactory nerves, these perfume molecules also stimulate the centers of emotion in the brain. There is thus an intimate, though still little understood, connection between the molecular events which give rise to our sense of smell and emotional events such as the evocation of memories from early childhood and the experience of sexual arousal.” Here the two gentlemen discuss, with much empirical evidence, the relationship between smell and how we feel. This is one of my favorites. The book itself is in good—maybe very good—condition. No creases or folds except the back cover (this paperback never had a dust jacket) which looks like somebody wrote over it. There are no actual folds or creases, just little raised lines. The book is obviously used (there’s slight browning on the ends of the pages where I’ve been flipping), but well taken care of.
