The Psychological Basis for Perfumery, Paul Jellinek

$100.00

A fascinating read. Half the chapters explore the erotic effects of aromatic substances. He also makes a distinction between odors and “odor effects.” He illustrates how it is essential for perfumes to contain conflicting and harmonious relationships in their odor effects. The book reveals how much humans respond to animal odors, namely feces and sweat and how successful perfumes mimic and exccentuate, under a floral or other surface, the smell of our bodies. The book is in very good condition, but there are scratches on the cover and back cover. They’re not deep, but the back cover has a number of them. They’re hard to see in the photo.
